CREW Careers™ is a community outreach initiative that supports the philanthropic objectives and core values of CREW Houston and CREW Foundation. The CREW Careers™ platform offers young women between the ages of fourteen and eighteen exposure to exciting and rewarding careers in commercial real estate. The CREW Careers™ committee hopes that this exposure causes the young women who attend to consider and pursue a career in the commercial real estate industry. The program is vital to the community outreach and membership objectives of CREW Houston.

 

The goals of the CREW Careers™ committee are to develop a system to capture the participating student's information, keep an up-to-date list of these students and their college pursuits, invite them to attend UCREW functions, and provide the student's information to the CREW Houston Membership committee at the appropriate time when the student is eligible for chapter membership. In order to accomplish these goals, we plan to have a shadowing/mentoring program for the young women who are interested at the event.

 

In addition, we plan to present an overview of college life and successful interviewing skills to the participating young women, so that they understand that there are several manners in which they may attend college such as night/weekend classes, community college, four-year college and technical college. 

 

Through these goals, the CREW Careers™ committee hopes to increase the CREW membership, especially, the membership of CREW Houston, and explain to the participating young women how to attain the dreams of going to college and securing a job.
